Hasina’s nomination declared legal in Gopalganj

Gopalganj Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) has declared legal nomination papers of 16 candidates including Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for three seats in Gopalganj after scrutinizing their necessary papers.

The EC also cancelled nomination papers of three candidates.

Gopalganj District Returning Officer Mokhlesur Rahman Sarkar and central Awami League Religious Affairs Secretary Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, BNP candidate Selimuzzaman Selim, Sharfuzzaman Jahangir, Sirajul Islam Siraj were present at this time.

The EC declared legal the nomination papers of six candidates for Gopalganj-1 constituency, five for Gopalganj-2 constituency and five including Sheikh Hasina for Gopalganj-3 constituency.

The candidates whose nominations have been cancelled are independent candidate Samsul Alam Khan Chowdhury for Gopalganj-1 constituency, BNP candidate SM Jilani for Gopalganj-3 constituency and Jatiya Party candidate AZM Apu Sheikh for Gopalganj-2 constituency.
