Heartiest congratulations to Tigers

At last the dream comes true. Bangladesh made the history in Sri Lanka winning second Test match against the host by four wickets.

Finally, the Tigers achieved the success. They clinched historic 100th Test match beating Sri Lanka to level Joy Bangla Cup series 1-1 in Colombo on Sunday afternoon. It was first ever victory against Sri Lanka for tigers. Besides, Bangladesh also made another record chasing highest runs in Test match outside of the country.

Earlier, Bangladesh won only two Test matches chasing opponents. Tigers beat West Indies at Granada in 2009. Later, the Bangladeshi boys thrashed Zimbabwe by three wickets chasing 101 runs at Mirpur in 2014. However, Bangladesh played had to worked hard to win that match against Zimbabwe.

Chasing a target of 191, batsman Mehedi Hasan hit the winning run after an anxious half hour in the final session on the fifth day, getting Bangladesh across the line in 57.5 overs today.

Tamim Iqbal laid the groundwork with his 22nd Test fifty, teaming up with Sabbir Rahman who made 41 runs and shared 109 for the third wicket with the left-hander. Tamim's 82 gave a solid platform for Bangladesh players to fight Sri Lankan bowlers. At one stage, Bangladesh lost five wickets taking 162 runs. But, skipper Mushfiq and young talented batsman Mehedi Hasan finished the match in a joyous mood.

There is no doubt that it was a great victory for Tigers as Bangladesh had a bad record in the same ground. Removing old spots, Tigers showed their real face there today putting a special mark on the way of 100th Test.

Touring Bangladesh had a unique feeling before the Test series. But, the cricket fans stumbled when Tigers lost their first match at Galle. Although, the fail in that first match created a frustration but, the second and 100th Test match brought splash of joy. Bangladesh was in driving seat from the very begging in today's match.

Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu Stadium or P.Sara Oval is the only stadium in this sub continent where cricket legend Sir Donald Bradman played. Sri Lanka played their first Test match there. Even, India and Pakistan got their first Test victory from the ground. And finally Bangladesh set the record in that historical field.

Bangladesh cricket has reached at a special peak through the 100th Test win. As fourth team across the globe Bangladesh successfully did the task. Even, England, India, South Africa has no similar record.

Heartiest congratulations to Bangladesh. All the cricket lovers and Bangladesh fans expect similar victory from Tigers and the journey of success will be continued.
