Holey Artisan attack: Sagor placed on fresh remand

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has placed Hadisur Rahman Sagar, one of the top militants of Neo JMB who allegedly supplied firearms for the Holey Artisan attack in the capital’s Gulshan, on a fresh five-day remand.
Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Kamrul Islam passed the order after hearing on a petition filed seeking an eight-day remand on Friday.
Humayun Kabir, Inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crimes (CTTC) unit, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case filed under Anti-Terrorism Act, produced him before the court and sought fresh remand.
Earlier on March 22, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raihanul Islam placed Sagor on a seven-day remand.
However, no lawyers moved for Sagor in the court.
General Registration Officer of the court for the police station concerned SI Rakib confirmed this to risingbd.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of Police in Bogra arrested Sagor and another JMB member conducting a drive at Kichak area of the district’s Shibganj upazila on the night of March 21.
Later, they were handed over to Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of police.
Militants attack on Holey Artisan Bakery of the capital’s Gulshan on July 1 night, 2016, leaving 20 dead. Of the deceased, 17 were foreigners.
