Staff Correspondent, Barisal: “Miscreants chopped him to death with sharp weapons in front of me in broad day light. I tried a lot till the last, but could not save him,” said Ayesha Siddiqua, wife of slain Rifat Sharif who was murdered in Barguna last day.

Ayesha said this to reporters at his father’s resident in Barguna on Thursday morning.

She became very tearful when she talked newsmen about the incident.

Ayesha said, “Nayon used to stalk me often, even after of my marriage. And Rifat was aware of that.”

Rifat’s father-in-law said, “I demand fair justice of the incident.”

Rifat, the only son of Abdul Halim of Boro Lobongola village in Burirchar union under Barguna Sadar upazila, was chopped by miscreants in front of Barguna government college on Wednesday morning.
