ICT division website restored

Risingbd Desk: Information Communication Technology (ICT) division's official website of the people's republic of Bangladesh has been restored hours after it was hacked by hackers.

A hacker body named Rahu hacked the website (http://www.ictd.gov.bd) around Saturday noon. The hackers wrote “Hacked by Rahu. Did it for India. Your website is owned by us”.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of ICT Division Abu Naser said the initial findings suggested Indian hackers were behind the cyber attack.

"We suspect it was in response to the hacking of some Indian sites on Friday by Bangladeshi hackers," Abu Naser said.

Abu Naser said the website was retrieved from the possession of the hackers around 5:00pm.

A Facebook page titled 'Cyber 71' claimed they had hacked some 100 Indian sites on Friday.
