IU History dept silver jubilee on Friday

Atikur Rahman from IU: Islamic History and Culture Department of Islamic University (IU) will hold its two day long silver jubilee programmes on the campus in Kushtia on Friday, the departmental chairman Professor M Jahangir Hossain said on Wednesday.

Marking the day, the teachers’ former and current students of the department will bring out a colorful procession in front of the university’s Arts Faculty building around 10:00am.

IU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari is expected to attend at the programme as chief guest while Pro-VC Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha and Humanities and Social Science Faculty Dean Prof Dr Habibur Rahman are expected to attend as special guests.

After that, a sports test, raffle draw and cultural functions will also be held at the auditorium.
