Illegal arms factory unearthed at Maheshkhali

Cox`s Bazar Correspondent: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) unearthed an illegal arms factory at Adharghona hill area of the district`s Maheshkhali upazila on Wednesday morning.

Later, law enforcers recovered 15 arms and a huge cache of ammunition from the factory. They also arrested two persons in this connection.

Identities of the arrestees could not be known immediately.

Company Commander of RAB-7 Lieutenant Ashequr Rahman said, acting on a tip-off, an operation was conducted at Adharghona of Kalarmarchhora area and unearthed the illegal arms factory.  Later, law enforcers recovered the arms and ammunition from the factory.

The operation was running while the report was filed around 2:00pm, according to Ashequr Rahman.

Details in this regard will be disclosed in a press conference at RAB-7 office at 5:00pm on the day.
