Illegal cigarettes, medicines worth Tk 2cr seized

Staff Correspondent: Members of Customs intelligence seized a huge quantity of illegally imported medicine and cigarettes from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka early Saturday.
The medicines and cigarettes, worth Tk two crore, were seized from six passengers of a flight that came in from Sharjah, United Arab Emirates around 4:00 am.
Dr Shahidul Islam, director general of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) confirmed the matter to risingbd.com on Saturday.
The seized medicines are Kenalog cream, Allergan Drop, Kenacomb cream, Octanate injection, Rowatinex tablet, Rital, Eyclogest, Xanax, Aqua AD, Ventoline, Plavix, Searle, Stilnox, Kenacort, Cavinton.
The seized cigarettes included 455 cartons of Benson & Hedges, 460 cartons of Esse and 85 cartons of Dunhill.
