India reports over 27000 Covid-19 cases in single day

India's Covid-19 tally touched 8,20,916 with the biggest single-day increase of 27,114 on Saturday (July 11), the latest data from the Union Health Ministry shows.

With this, India registers over 27,000 cases for the first time in a single day.

The country also witnessed 519 deaths in past 24 hours, taking the total number of death count to 22,123.

Maharashtra has reported the highest number of cases, followed by Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi and Telangana.

5,15,386 patients across the country have recovered so far, taking the recovery rate to 62.78 per cent. India is the third worst-hit nation by the Covid-19 pandemic. Only the US and Brazil are ahead of India in terms of total coronavirus infections._Agencies
