International Desk: Indian government has revoked the passport of Islamic preacher Zakir Naik as he repeatedly failed to respond to a showcause notice issued to him by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Zakir Naik was asked to make a personal appearance by July 13, according to the notice.
According to the Times of India, India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) acted on a request by the NIA, which is probing Zakir over terrorism and money laundering.
The preacher, best known as a public speaker and TV preacher, has been accused of spreading hatred, funding terrorists and money laundering.
