India win Nidahas Trophy title

Sports Desk: India won the title of the tri-nation T20I Nidahas Trophy-2018, beating Bangladesh by four wickets at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo of Sri Lanka on Sunday.

Tigers, thanks to Sabbir Rahman’s 77 runs, set 167-run target for India losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.

In Chase, India reached the target and scored 168 runs with Dinesh Karthik’s over boundary for losing 6 wickets in 20 overs.

India captain Rohit Sharma hit an innings of 56 runs from 42 balls with four fours and three sixes.

Lokesh Rahul scored 24 runs off 14 balls which includes two fours and a six while opener Shikhar Dhawan returned to the pavilion after an innings of 10 runs off 7 balls.

Manish Pandey hit 27 runs from 27 balls with three fours.

Vijay Shankar scored 17 runs off 19 balls which includes three fours.

Dinesh Karthik (wk) hit a brisk innings of 29 runs from 8 balls with two fours and three sixes.

For Bangladesh, pacer Rubel Hossain earned two wickets for 35 runs. Shakib Al Hasan, Nazmul Islam, Soumya Sarkar and Mustafizur Rahman shared a wicket.

Earlier, dashing batsman Sabbir hit a brilliant innings of 77 runs off 50 balls. Which includes 7 fours and 4 sixes to set the challenging score for India.

Mahmudullah earned 21 runs off 16 balls with two fours before was run out.

Allrounder Mehidy Hasan (unbeaten) hit 19 runs from 7 balls with two fours and a six.

Opener Tamim Iqbal bagged 15 runs off 13 balls with a four while another opener Liton Das returned to the pavilion scoring 11 runs from 9 balls with a six.

Wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim scored 9 runs from 12 balls while Captain Shakib Al Hasan bagged 7 runs off 7 balls with a four.

Soumya Sarkar bagged just 1 run while pacer Rubel Hossain hit a duck. Another pacer Mustafizur Rahman (unbeaten) played faced three balls, but could not earn any run.

For India, Yuzvendra Chahal earned three wickets for 18 runs. Jaydev Unadkat bagged two wickets off 33 runs while Washington Sundar got a wicket for 20 runs.
