Indian plane escapes accident at SIA

Staff Correspondent: 74 passengers and four pilots and crew of an Indian SpiceJet flight narrowly escaped an accident at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday morning.
A nose wheel of the Kolkata-bound flight caught fire around 10:40am on Friday, and later fire fighters immediately rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
The accident took place when the aircraft of India-based airline was heading towards runway from taxiway for taking off, Wahidur Rahman, deputy director (air traffic) at the airport said.
As the fire caught at the aircraft’s nose wheel, the pilot aborted its take off, Wahidur said.
