Staff Correspondent, Jashore: A police inspector has died as a train hit him in Jashore.
The incident took place at Murli rail-crossing of the town on Tuesday noon.
The deceased was identified as Selim Hossain, son of late Matiyar Rahman of Kamlapur village under Shreepur upazila in Magura. He was on duty at Jashore Police Lines.
SI Tariqul Islam, also In-charge of Jashore GRP police, confirmed the news.
He said, “Selim was standing near Murli rail-crossing while Khulna-bound Sagordari train hit him, leaving him dead on the spot.”
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Jashore 250-bed General Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
