Institutions to be brought under MPO on conditions

Special Correspondent: Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said some of the educational institutions will be brought under Monthly Pay Order (MPO) on conditions.

He, however, said the government has no plan to bring any institution under nationalization.

The Minister said this in a programme at Secretariat in the capital on Sunday.

In reply to a query, the minister said MPO inclusion is a bad policy. I want its reformation, but this not happening. So, I made it withheld. Now I have to give. I will give, but on conditions.

When asked over the conditions, Muhith said a part will be allotted for structural development and buying different materials. A meeting will be arranged in this regard in this January where the matter will be discussed.

He said the education ministry did not take any step of reformation for MPO inclusion. I gave them some recommendations in this regard. Now, I have to wait to see what they do.
