Staff Correspondent: Internet speed will remain slow for three days across the country due to maintenance work of the first submarine cable.
Bangladesh Submarince Cable Company Ltd (BSCCL) source confirmed the news.
The source said the bandwidth deficit from October 22 to October 24 will be less than 50 Gbps which is 50 percent less than the total demand. The internet speed will remain slow for the three days as the first submarine cable will remain closed.
BSCCL's managing director Masiur Rahman said the submarine cable "South East Assia-Middle East Western Europe-4 (SEA-ME-WE-4)" is undergoing maintenance after remaining closed for the first time. The maintenance work will begin from October 22 and end on October 24 which will impact on the internet speed.
