Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo has observed Amar Ekushey and International Mother Language Day in a befitting manner.
Embassy staff and officials led by Rabab Fatima, the ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the language movement offering offered floral wreath at the permanent Shahid Minar at Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Parkon Wednesday morning.
Later, Bangladesh expatriates and others paid tribute to the language martyrs.
A press release issued from Japan embassy confirmed this.
The Bangladesh community representatives, a good number of Japanese academicians, officials, businessmen and civil society members along with the members of Bangladesh community in Japan joined the function. Meanwhile, they observed one minute silence and hoist the national flag half-mast in the embassy in Japan.
