'Invest in stock markets carefully'

Economic Correspondent: Finance Minister AMA Muhith urged the investors to invest in the stock markets carefully to get good returns from their investments.

The minister made the call while addressing as the chief guest the inaugural ceremony of the "World Investor Week-2017" at Shilpokola Academy in the city on Monday.

"Stock markets are now stronger than before. The investors should invest in the market through properly observing the company's overall activities to keep up the present rising trend of the markets," he said.

The minister said the government is working relentlessly to make strong the markets and the markets are running well since 2013.

Describing the ongoing environment of the stock markets as friendly, he said he has been urging the people to invest in the stock markets for last few years.

Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Professor Dr M Khairul Hossain and Senior Secretary of the Financial Insutiutions Division M Eunusur Rahman were present at the inaugural ceremony.

Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission is observing the "World Investor Week-2017" across the country during October 2-8 to create awareness about investment among the general investors.

To observe the week, the BSEC has arranged different meetings, seminars, workshops and investors' education fair targeting general investors, students of universities, stakeholders of the capital market and different professional bodies.
