It proves judiciary independent: Quader

Senior Correspondent: Awami League (AL) general secretary, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia secured bail in two defamation cases which proved the judiciary is independent.

In reply to a query, the Minister came up with the statement to reporters while visiting construction progress of “Dhaka Elevated Express Way” at the capital’s Kawla area on Tuesday noon.

He said, “We always say that country’s judiciary is running independently. The Sheikh Hasina-led government did not interfere in judiciary procedures till now.”

“Nothing different happened in Khaleda’s cases. The court grants bail for her independently whenever it wishes. Today, the court also granted bail to her that proves how independent the judiciary is, during the current regime,” he said.
