JP ministers to quit any time

Staff Correspondent: Three ministers of Jatiya Party (JP) are going to quit from the cabinet any time.

The decision came at a meeting of party's parliamentary members on Tuesday night.

The meeting was called after the party chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad criticized the role of the party to remain in the government and the opposition in the parliament together.

Opposition leader in parliament Raushan Ershad chaired the meeting where party chairman HM Ershad, secretary general ABM Ruhul Amin Howladar, Water resources Minister Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud among others were present.

A presidium of JP, claiming anonymity, said party chairman Ershad himself proposed three ministers of the party to step down from the cabinet.

"Ershad said in the meeting at first we have to fix our self identity. We could not take decisions due to various difficulties so long. As the election is closer, we should quit the government right now to clear the party position," the JP leader added.
