Janaza of 4 Bangladeshi peacekeepers held

Staff Correspondent: The namaz-e-janaza of three UN peacekeepers, who were killed in Mali, was held at Chopper’s Den of Dhaka Cantonment on Friday.

Chief of Army Staff General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq, high officials of the force and the relatives of the deceased soldiers attended the janaza.

After the janaza, Bangladesh Army Chief, Navy chief Admiral Mohammad Nizamuddin Ahmed, Air Force chief Air Vice Marshal Abu Esrar and Deputy Force Commander of MINUSMA, General-Major Amadou Kané offeral floral wreath to the martyrs.



The deceased soldiers are - army warrant officer Abul Kalam, Pirojpur (37 AD Regi. Arti.), Lance Corporal Akhter, Mymensingh (9 Field Regi. Arti.), soldier Raihan, Pabna (32 EB) and soldier (Cook) Jamal, Chapai Nawabganj (32 EB).

On February 28, the four UN peacekeepers were killed and injured four others in an Improvised Explosive Device (IAD) explosion in Mali.
