Japan to provide $32m more for Rohingyas

Secretariat Correspondent: The government of Japan has announced to provide US $32.5 million dollars as additional support for the Rohingyas who took shelter at Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh after fleeing torture of Myanmar army.

The Japanese Embassy in Dhaka came up with the information on Tuesday.

The government of Japan made the announcement on February 7.

With this additional support, the total amount of assistance has reached the sum of US $82.7 million dollars.

Since the massive influx of Rohingyas into Bangladesh began in August 2017, the government of Japan had granted approximately US $50.2 million dollars to assist the displaced population.

The support provided by Japan will help a number of different international organizations to the manage camps and regenerate the forest, plus, provide: food and shelter, medical services, training, wash facilities, and so on.
