Separate 2 road crashes kill 2 in Jessore

Staff Correspondent, Jessore: At least two people were killed and two more injured in separate two road accidents in Jhikargacha and Sharsha Bazar areas of the district on Tuesday.

The deceased are Mahbubur Rahman, 30, son of Chabir Uddin Pramanik, and Selina Aktar, wife of Anwarul Kabir.

Divisional Sales Manager Tozammel Haque of Bengal Polymer House-ware Group said that the victim was returning home from Satkhira after their marketing tasks on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, a speedy passenger bus hit their motorbike in Jhikorgacha Bazar, leaving Mahbubur Rahman dead on the spot and injured another one named Anukul Sarkar.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge of Jhikargachha Police Station Abu Saleh Masud Karim said police recovered the body from the spot.

Besides, Selina Aktar and her husband were heading towards Benapole this morning. Meanwhile, a covered van rammed her on Jessore-Benapole highway, leaving her dead on the spot and injured husband Anwarul Kabir.

Navaron Highway police camp in-charge Politon Mia confirmed the matter to media.
