Judicial officers asked to submit ACR by February 15

Staff Correspondent: From now, the judicial officers will have to submit the annual confidential report (ACR) by February 15 every year, according to a circular.

Dr Zakir Hossain, registrar of the Supreme Court (SC), issued the circular instructed by the Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain on Sunday.

According to the circular, ACR is needed for different purposes including promotion to the judicial officials. Various administrative problems were found as some officials did not obey the circular issued in this regard earlier.

Not to follow the ACR guidelines properly is contrary to the job discipline. Besides, according to Judicial Services (Discipline Rules) Rules, 2017, it is misconduct and punishable, the circular read.

All the judicial officials were asked to submit their ACR reports within February 15 every year. Departmental steps must be taken strictly against the officials who will fail to obey the instruction, the circular revealed.
