Staff Correspondent, Sylhet: Awami League-nominated mayoral candidate Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran has claimed that Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) polls is being held in a peaceful manner.
Kamran made the claim while talking with journalists after casting his vote at Sylhet Govt Pilot High School on Monday morning.
Kamran said, “BNP is trying to question the election by spreading false information. BNP’s allegations of vote-rigging and irregularities are baseless”.
“I do not find any irregularities during the polls,” he said.
On the other hand, BNP-nominated mayoral candidate Ariful Haque Chowdhury alleged that vote-rigging and irregularities were committed in some centers.
“If the election is held in fair and peaceful manner, I will win”, Ariful claimed.
