Katrina to win national award for ‘Bharat’!

Entertainment Desk: At a song launch event of Zinda from Bharat in Mumbai, Salman Khan opened up about Katrina Kaif’s incredible performance in their upcoming film Ali Abbas Zafar’s upcoming film Bharat.

One of the most-anticipated Bollywood films of 2018, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat will hit theatres in another three weeks from now. Recently, the two Bollywood superstars along with the makers of the film had turned up at Zinda’s song launch event in Mumbai. While interacting with the press, the Dabangg 3 star had quite a few candid answers for the crowd.

While Katrina was talking about how fulfilling her journey of Bharat has been and how this was a once in a lifetime role for her to play, Salman interrupted and said that Katrina is outstanding in this film and she will get a National Film Award for her performance in Bharat. Now, most of us, knowing Salman’s candid nature, will feel that he was just pulling her leg. But no, ‘bhai jaan’ was being serious.

“She will get a National Award for the film. Without any jokes, she is so good in the film and she has worked very hard,” Salman Khan said. In fact, earlier in the event, Salman also thanked Priyanka Chopra for leaving the project, which opened the doors for Katrina to step in and take up the role of Kumud.

Katrina too opened up about how the projected landed in her lap. “I was aware that Priyanka is doing the film, but one day, Ali called me and told me that things did not work out according to plan and that he is sending me the script of the film. He just asked me to read it and react. There was no pressure on me to say yes to it because we are friends. I read it and I told him that this is the best script he has written so far and I loved the role. So, I said yes,” Katrina said. _Agencies
