Khaleda Zia wants time: IG Prisons

Staff Correspondent: Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General Syed Iftekhar Uddin has said that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia wants some days more to decide whether she will take treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital.

Brigadier General Syed Iftekhar Uddin said this to the journalists at his office on Monday.

“I have inquired about the physical condition of Khaleda Zia. But, she sought more time to decide about this matter. On the other hand, the home minister is also abroad. When he returns to the country, he will go to jail and inquire about the physical condition of Khaleda Zia and she (Khaleda) will inform him”.

He said, “Khaleda Zia is being given treatment following the jail code. At the same time, her physical condition is being examined regularly”.
