Khaleda Zia's adviser Mashiur Rahman jailed for 10 yrs

Staff Correspondent, Jessore: A special court in Jhenidah has sentenced Khaleda Zia's adviser Mashiur Rahman MP to 10 years imprisonment in a case filed by Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) for amassing illegal wealth.

Special Judge of Jessore Nitai Chandra Saha passed the order around 11:30am on Wednesday.

The court also fined him Tk 90,000 and confiscated his wealth worth Tk10.5 crore.

According to the court statement, the ACC on December 14 in 2008, filed a case against Mashiur for concealing wealth information and amassing wealth illegally under section 26 (2) and section 327 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2008.
