Khaleda won’t get release even SC grants bail

Staff Correspondent: Law Minister Anisul Huq said though the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) granted bail to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case, she will not get release from jail until she secured bail in Comilla case.

The Minister told this to the reporters in reply to a query after opening “62nd Annual Scintilla Science Festival- 2018” at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School in the capital on Saturday.

Anisul Huq said, “Hearing in a case will be held for Khaleda’s bail on Sunday. But I know, she have to secure bail in another case appearing in person before the court. If the Appellate Division will grant bail to her on Sunday, she will not get release from jail until she will get bail in Comilla’s sabotage case. That's the rule of law.”
