Krishna Kaberi murder: Main accused sentenced to death

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has sentenced to death the main accused K M Jahirul Islam Palash for killing a college teacher, Krishna Kaberi Biswas, in the capital’s Mohammadpur.

The Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 of Dhaka Judge Shahed Nuruddin order on Thursday noon.

Earlier on December 23, the tribunal fixed today to pronounce the verdict after wrapping up the hearing arguments of both sides.

Krishna Kaberi, 35, was murdered on March 30, 2015, by Zahirul Islam Palash, a business associate of Kaberi’s husband and BRTA Deputy Director Sitangshu Shekhar Biswas who was also injured in the assault at their home at Mohammadpur in the capital.

Later, the victim’s brother-in-law Shudhangshu Shekhar filed a murder case with Mohammadpur police station.

The accused person has remained absconding after receiving bail from the High Court
