'Latest technologies to be used for border security'

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: Major General Shafeenul Islam, director general of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said latest technologies will be used in borders to remove the gap of manpower for security.
The BGB Chief made assertion after visiting two border observation posts (BOP) in remote areas of Padma River bank in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi on Monday noon.
He said, "Using latest technology, the gap will be removed as we have not sufficient manpower. That’s why various types of equipments will be installed including CCTV cameras in border areas."
"Special importance is being given in constructing roads in border areas to curb smuggling and crime," he said.
Earlier, he visited Sahebnagar BOP under BGB-1 battalion riding motorbike in borders. Later, he also went to Manikchak BOP under BGB-53 battalion.
Meanwhile, the DG of BGB talked with the on duty BGB personnel in border areas and gave direction to them.
