Legendary actor Nayak Raj Razzak no more

Staff Correspondent: Legendary Bangladesh film actor Abdur Razzak, popularly known as Nayak Raj Razzak breathed his last in capital's United Hospital on Monday.

He was 76.

United Hospital's media and public relations officer Sajjadur Rahman Shuva confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.

Sajjadur Rahman said, "The family members of Razzak brought him to the hospital around 5:20pm. Later, the doctors declared him dead around 6:13pm."

The film star was born on 23 January 1942 at Nagtola in Taliganj of Kolkata.

He won the prestigious National Film Award for seven times for his unique roles in the different films. He is the only actor who has received the Swadhinata Padak (Independence Award), the highest state award given by the government of Bangladesh, in his lifetime.

Razzak had over 300 appearances in Bengali and Urdu movies. He also directed around sixteen movies.

He was also a United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) goodwill ambassador.
