Lightning kills 2 in Sirajganj

Sirajganj Correspondent: At least two persons were killed and three others injured after thunderbolts struck them in Ali village under Ullapara upazila of the district on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Razzak, 40 son of Fazlar Rahman and Abdul Jabbar, 35, son of Mahir Uddin.

Sources said that five day laborers were sleeping in a temporary hut in the paddy field where the lightning hit them, leaving the two people dead on the spot and injured three others. 

The injured are receiving treatment at a local hospital.

Confirming the matter, Ullapara upazile executive officer Arifuzzaman said, necessary steps will be taken to provide assistances to the victims.
