Lightning kills 5 in Satkhira

Satkhira Correspondent: At least five persons were killed as thunder bolts struck them in different areas of Satkhira on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Alamin Hossain, 22, Rabiul Islam, 20, Sabina Khatun, 18, Jewel Sardar and Munsur Ali Gazi, 46.

Kaliganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) Razib Hasan said, four members of a family killed when a thunderbolt struck them as they were staying at their house around 10:00am on Friday.

Abdus Salam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Assasuni police station said, a thunderbolt struck Jewel Sardar when he was returning home from his fish farm, leaving him dead on the spot.
