Lightning kills father, son in Sylhet

Staff Correspondent, Sylhet: A man and his teenage son were killed by lightning strike at Pagnar Haor in Jamalganj upazila of Sunamganj district on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Banu Hossain, 40 and his son Sumon Mia, 14, hailed from Shantipur village of Fenarbak union.

Locals said the incident occurred this morning am when a thunderbolt struck on Banu and his son Sumon while they were fishing at Pagner haor, leaving them dead on the spot. Later, locals recovered the bodies.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Priyanka Paul confirmed the matter.
