Lightning kills two women in Sirajganj

Sirajganj Correspondent: Two women died on the spot when thunderbolts hit them in Belkuchi and Ullahpara upazila of the district on Wednesday night.

The deceased were identified as Ferdousi Khatun, 45 wife of Chhanowar Hossain, and Jaynab Bewa, 70, wife of Golbar Hossain.

Belkuchi police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sazzad Hossain said that Ferdousi Khatun went to cowshed and lightning struck her, leaving her dead on the spot in Pirarachar village of Dhukuriabera under the upazila.

Besides, victim Jaynab Bewa's daughter in law said that they went to local hospital on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, lightning struck in the area which created a massive sound and Jaynab died of cardiac arrest.
