Senior Correspondent: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said loan defaulters would also be brought to the justice.
He said, "Nobody will be spared after committing offence. Many articles are being published over loan default and financial irregularities. Government's stand against such irregularities is very clear. Loan defaulters who are convicted would be punished. Nobody is above law in Bangladesh."
The minister came up with the observations while talking to reporters after addressing the inaugural function of 139th refreshers' course for Additional District and Sessions Judge and equivalent officials at Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI) in the capital on Sunday.
Anisul Huq said, "Those will be guilty in loan defaulting must face punishment. Alongside, people who will not be found guilty will not face harassment. That is the position of the present government."
Urging the judges to remain very alert while conducting trial of graft cases, the minister said the present government has adopted zero tolerance policy against corruption and it would provide all necessary support to them in this regard.
Presided over by JATI Director General Justice Khandaker Musa Khaled, the function was addressed by law secretary Abu Saleh Sheikh Md Zahirul Haque and JATI director Dr Sheikh Golam Mahbub among others.
