Luna Shamsuddoha made JB chairman

Economic Reporter: Luna Shamsuddoha has been made chairman of the state-owned Janata Bank Limited.
She is the first woman to head any state-owned bank in Bangladesh.
The bank’s board of directors appointed her at a meeting on Wednesday.
Luna was a member of the bank’s board since June 2016.
She is a software entrepreneur, chairman of Dohatec New Media and managing director of Global Voice Telecommunications Ltd.
Dohatec was involved in the development of voter enrolment solution in 2007-2008. Her firm developed several e-governance projects and also developed the electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) System.
Global Women Inventors and Innovators Network (GWIIN) in 2013 had honoured Luna with the Honorary Special Recognition Award for her achievements as a leading woman entrepreneur in technology and for her innovative programs to support and empower women.
The president of Bangladesh Women in Technology, Luna also received the “Bangladesh Business Award” last year for her contribution to the country’s economy.
She also serves as a board member of the SME Foundation and Independent University Bangladesh (IUB).
