MP Abdul Mannan’s janaza held

The namaj-e-janaza of Awami League MP of Bogura -1 constituency Abdul Mannan was held at South Plaza of Jatiya Snagsad on Monday morning.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tributes to Abdul Mannan by placing a wreath on his coffin at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

After placing the wreath on the coffin draped in the national flag, the prime minister stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Abdul Mannan.

Later accompanied by senior party leaders, Sheikh Hasina, also the president of AL, laid another wreath on the coffin of Abdul Mannan on behalf of the party.

Earlier on behalf of President M Abdul Hamid, his military secretary placed
a wreath on the coffin of the AL lawmaker.

Besides, Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Deputy
Speaker Fazle Rabbi Mian as well as the chief whip and whips placed wreaths
on the coffin of the deceased.

His body will be flown to Bogura. After a namaj-e-janaza at 4.00pm he will be buried today at his family graveyard at Hindukandi village under Sariakandi upazila in Bogura.

Awami League MP of Bogura -1 constituency Abdul Mannan died at a hospital in the capital on Saturday morning.

Mannan was thrice elected as a parliament member from Bogura in 2008, 2014 and 2018.

He had previously served as an organising secretary to the ruling party and was also a former president of the Bangladesh Chhatra League.
