Main accused of Xulhaz-Tonoy murder case arrested

Staff Correspondent: Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of police have arrested the main accused of Xulhaz Mannan and Mahbub Rabbi Tonoy murder case.

He was arrested in a drive conducted at Tongi of Gazipur on Tuesday night.

Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (DC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the news on Wednesday morning.

However, the identity of the arrestee was not revealed immediately.

USAID staff Xulhaz, who used to work as a protocol officer of former US ambassador Dan W Mozena, and his friend Khandoker Mahbub Rabby Tonoy were hacked to death inside Xulhaz' flat in Dhaka's Kalabagan area on April 25, 2016.
