Man gets life term over Korean citizen murder

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court on Thursday sentenced a man to life in jail in connection with the murder of a Korean citizen in November 2011 in Gulshan.

Dhaka Speedy trial Tribunal 4 Judge Abdur Rahman Sarder passed the order.

The court also fined convict Manik Sardar, a dish cleaner of Arian Korean Restaurant, Tk 10,000, in default, to suffer one year more rigorous imprisonment.

According to the case statement, the convict stabbed Rou Jong Sing indiscriminately leaving her critically injured on November 9, 2011.

Later, she was shifted to Korea for treatment where she succumbed to her injuries on November 17 that year, he said.

Perk Jang Siong, the victim’s husband, filed a case with Gulshan Police Station on that day in connection with the murder.
