Man, granddaughter found dead in Naf River

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: An elderly man and his granddaughter, who went missing on Wednesday, were found dead in a fish enclosure along the Naf River in the district’s Teknaf upazila on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Yusuf Ali, 75, son of late Abdul Aziz of Lombabil of Huaikang area, and his granddaughter Rozina Akter, 10, daughter of Yusuf’s son Abdul Malek.
Ranjit Kumar Barua, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station, confirmed the news.
He quoting deceased’s relatives and locals said, “Yusuf along with his granddaughter Rozina went char area with their cattle around 12:00pm on Thursday and they remained missing since then.”
“Locals on Friday noon spotted the floating bodies of Yusuf and Rozina at Huaikang Unsiprang Jhimongkhali along the river and informed police about it,” he added.
“The bodies were handed over to their relatives,” he said.
