Man hacked dead in Pabna

Pabna Correspondent: A day labourer was hacked to death by miscreants at Krishnapur village under Bhulbaria union in Ataikula thana area of the district.

The deceased was identified as Johurul Islam, 17, son of Nurul Islam of the village.

Quoting Johurul's family members, Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ataikula Police Station, said Johurul used to work as a day labourer in the house of others. He remained missing since he had gone out of his home on Saturday evening. His family members frantically searched him at different places but did not find.

Locals informed police when they saw a body lying in a wheat field of the Krishnapur village around 3:00pm on Sunday.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

Several injury marks of sharp weapons were found at the victim's neck. The reason behind his death could not be known immediately. The body has been sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
