Man lynched in Faridpur for 'stealing'

Faridpur Correspondent: A man was lynched in Bilgazaria village under Sadar Upazila of the district on Sunday on allegation of stealing cattle.

The deceased was identified as Rasel Sheikh, 39. He was a professional truck driver.

Police and locals said that a group of thieves entered into the house of Jalil Munshi on Saturday midnight. Sensing the presence of thieves, Jalil Munshi started shouting. Meanwhile, locals rushed to the spot and chased the thieves and caught the truck driver Rasel. The mob beat him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.

Faridpur Kotwali police station SI Masud Rana said that on information police recovered the body.
