Man to walk gallows for killing niece in Gazipur

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A court in Gazipur on Wednesday sentenced a man to death, two to life imprisonment for their involvement in killing a girl named Nazmin, 7 in the district in 2015.

Judge AKM Enamul Haque of the District and Sessions Judge's Court passed the order.

The death row convict is- Ripon Mia, 33, son of Hasmat Ali, hailed from Chakpara area of Sreepur Upazila.

Gazipur court police inspector Rabiul Islam said that on October 29, 2015, Ripon Mia slaughtered her niece Nazmin following a land dispute.

Later, the victim's mother Azma Begum filed a murder case with Sreepur Police Station mentioning three names.
