Marcel product sales up by 66pc

Economic Correspondent: Local brand of electronics, electrical and home appliances products Marcel has posted booming sales centering Eid-ul-Azha in August last.

The sales of Marcel products increased by 66 percent in the period compared to the sales of the same period last year. Specially, the sales of Marcel brands refrigerators increased remarkably, which led them to target double the sales next year.

Ujjal Kumar Barua, head of Logistic Monitoring of Marcel products, said they have registered 60 percent growth on fridge sales in last August, which is more than double than the target of Eid sales.

According to him, the success came because of the release of tempered glass door refrigerators along with inverter technology based non-frost and huge power saving frost fridge with large deep portion.

Informing that the brand has registered 57 percent growth in LED television sales, he said that the sales of various models of air conditioners and home and electrical appliances also increased remarkably.

According to sources, the use of cutting-edge technology in production, affordable prices of products, scope of installment purchasing, easily available ISO standard after sales service and manufacturing products sustainable with the local weather condition worked behind the increase of customers' trust on Marcel brand products, which led the continuous growth of sales. The sales of Marcel products increased by 32 percent in January to August this year compared to the same period of sales last year. All showrooms of Marcel were seen crowded by customers centering Eid last month.

Mosharof Hossain Razib, head of Marcel marketing (North), said they are having accelerating growth in sales for the last few years, which led them to take more initiatives. The research and development team of Marcel are working on new and innovative design and technology of products.

Dr. Md. Shakhawat Hossen, head of Marcel marketing (South), said medium size fridges were in the top of customers' choice in last Eid and they had enjoyed booming sales of 213-liter refrigerators while 24 and 32-inch LED TVs.

Mentioning that they had posted highest amount of sales in last Eid, he said that they are targeting to double the sales in next year. Marcel brand has more than 200 eye-catching models and design of products including 56 models of fridge, 24 models of LED TVs and 6 models of ACs. Some new models of fridges and TVs are in the upcoming products line among which are noiseless fridge manufactured using compressors made in its factory.


In addition, Marcel has various models of blender, rice cooker, gas stove, induction cooker, electric kettle, celling and wall fan, room heater, voltage stabilizer and protector, iron, rechargeable lamp and torchlight, LED light, electric switch sockets along with other home and electrical appliances.

Engineers said, Marcel fridges are up to 70 percent power efficient and environment friendly R600a gas is being used as refrigerant. Besides, Nano Healthcare technology is used in Marcel fridges, which keeps foods fresh and healthy while the use of anti-fungal door gasket prevents harmful germs.

Mentionable, customers can enjoy one-year replacement guaranty on Marcel fridges while 10-year for compressors along with six-month on LED TVs. Marcel provides customers fast and best after sales service through its ISO certified Service Management System in 70 service centers across the country where more than 2,500 engineers and technicians work.
