Marcel’s AC sales up by 216 pc

Staff Correspondent: The local electronics manufacturer ‘Marcel’ has witnessed a robust growth in the sales of its wide ranges of air conditioners in the domestic market.

During the months of January to May of 2019, the air conditioner’s sales of the local brand were gone up by around 216.54 percent compared to the sales of the corresponding period of 2018.

Marcel officials disclosed this data at a programme titled “Celebration of Booming Sales of Marcel AC” held at the company’s corporate office in the capital on Monday.

The programme was attended, among others, by the company’s Executive Directors Eva Rezwana, Amdadul Haque Sarker, Md. Tanvir Rahman, Dr. Md. Shakhawat Hossen and Md. Sirajul Islam, Operative Director Engineer Ishaque Rony, Deputy Operative Director Mofizur Rahaman and other senior officials.

At the function, Marcel’s Head of Sales Dr. Md. Shakhawat Hossen said, in this summer, people across the country have witnessed relatively higher temperature compared to the last year’s summer.

Thus, the demands and sales of AC in the domestic market were sharply increased this year, mentioning it he said that Marcel has been able to meet a remarkable portion of the excessive demands of AC.

Hossen noted that sales of their air conditioner in the period of January to May were swelled by 216.54 percent as against the sales during the last year’s same period. In addition, Marcel recorded about 451 per cent sales growth of its AC in the last month compared to the sales of last year’s May.

Marcel AC’s Chief Executive Officer Md. Tanvir Rahman said, this year some unique technologies air conditioners like huge energy efficient inverter, ionizer, turbo cooling, IoT based smart AC have been supplied to the local market. Quality of these ACs is up to the international standards and the prices are also reasonable.  In addition, he said, Marcel increased the customers’ facilities through announcing 6 months replacement guaranty as well as 10 years guaranty on the compressor of Inverter AC, providing free installation and swift post sales services, and allowing easy installment facility on the purchase up to 36 months.

Marcel AC’s Chief Operative Officer Engineer Ishaque Rony said, users are allowed to change their used or old air conditioners of any brand with the Marcel’s brand new ACs at 25 percent discount under the nationwide ongoing ‘AC Exchange Offer’. Already, a large number of customers across the country exchanged their used ACs with the Marcel’s new ones, he added.

Apart from this exchange offer, he said, customers of Marcel brand 1-ton, 1.5 ton and 2 ton ACs are getting Tk 14,600, Tk 18,000 and Tk 21,600 as one year electricity bill through registering their newly purchased AC from any outlet across the country under the ongoing digital campaign season 4.

In addition, customers may get brand new car, sure cash vouchers up to Tk 1 lakh or free products like motorcycle, laptop, fridge, television etc.

Along with these facilities, customers are now offered instant cashback of Tk 1000 for setting Marcel AC tune as their mobile caller tune and uploading the picture of installed AC of Marcel in facebook.

Deputy Operative Director Mofizur Rahaman said that Marcel is now manufacturing and marketing various models of 1 ton, 1.5 ton and 2 ton split air conditioners in the local market. Prices of these ACs are between Tk 35,900 and Tk 76,400.

He noted that every air conditioner of Marcel is released in the market after obtaining certificates of highest quality from international standard testing lab NUSDAT-UTS.
