Maritime ports advised to hoist signal no. 3

Desk Report: Due to a deep convection taking place over the northern Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas, squally weather may affect the maritime ports and coastal areas of Bangladesh.

Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three, according to met office.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.

The weather forecast says heavy rain may occur at different places across the country including the capital Dhaka. Due to the steep pressure gradient gusty wind is likely to flow over the Bay of Bengal, coastal areas of Bangladesh and maritime ports.
