Marzan's sister Khadiza urged to surrender

Staff Correspondent, Jessore: Law enforcers urged Khalida, sister of slain militant Marzan, to surrender from the militant den which has been cordoned off from Sunday late night.

Anisur Rahman, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Jessore, urged Khadiz and her family members over a loud speaker to surrender to the law enforcement agencies around 11:15 am on Monday.

Anisur Rahman said over loud speaker, "Khadiza, you come out. We want to talk to you. Children are also with you. Come out thinking of them and surrender. We will all-bout assist you in this regard."

However, Khadiza did not give any response till 11:300am.

Later, SP Anisur Rahman briefed media on the spot. He said, there were five families in the house. They all were shifted from there safely. Militant Marzan's sister Khadiza along with several children is staying on the second floor of the house.

Earlier, Nayemur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Jessore, said the house was cordoned off on basis of information provided by SWAT. It is guessed that militants are staying inside the house. People including journalists are bared to enter the area.

Haidar Ali, owner of the house, also teacher of Jessore district school, said one Moshiur Rahman hailed from Kushtia rented the house. He identified himself as a worker of a herbal company.

Ajmal Huda, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jessore Kotwali Police Station, confirmed the news.
