Mash becomes sports ministry parliamentary committee member

Secretariat Correspondent: Bangladesh One-Day skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has become member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports Ministry of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad.

However, former Deputy Minister for Environment and Forests Abdullah Al Islam Jacob has become chairman of the committee.

The other members of the committee are: State Minister for the Youth and Sports Ministry Zahid Ahsan Rasel, former State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Shri Biren Sikder, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon, Gaibandha-2 (Sadar) lawmaker Mahbub Ara Begum Gini, former footballer and Khulna-4 lawmaker Abdus Salam Murshedi and former cricketer and lawmaker Naimur Rahman Durjoy.

Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury proposed the names of the committee and the members in accordance with the Rules of Procedure in the parliament session, with Deputy Speaker M Fazley Rabbi Mia in the chair, on Sunday.
