Mathbaria municipality mayor sent to jail

Pirojpur Correspondent: A district court on Sunday sent Mathbaria Municipality Mayor Rafiuddin Ahmed Ferdaus to jail after he appeared before the court in connection with upazila Juba League activist Liton Pandit murder case.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Bellal Hossain passed the order rejecting bail plea this noon.

According to the case statement, on July 25, two groups of Rafiuddin Ahmed and Upazila Chairman Ashraful Islam locked into clash over establishing supremacy, leaving Liton Pandit shot dead.

Later, victim's elder brother Jakir Hossain filed a murder case mentioning name of Rafiuddin Ahmed.
